Workers Win $15M Lottery Jackpot After Playing Wrong Game
It was a $15 million mistake.Eleven dental workers at Warren Family Dental in Howland, Ohio had been playing the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game for a year in hopes of winning big. This past week, one group member who usually doesn't play mistakenly bought an Ohio Super Lotto ticket for the group. All six of the numbers were drawn Saturday, making the dental workers winners of the $15 million jackpot.Nick Grano of the Ohio Lottery Commission said some of the women came to the regional offic

New Pb MM odds of winning
I agree with what you're saying. The problems comes from the fact that the states have come to rely so heavily upon steadily increasing lottery revenue every year. Blame it on the state legislatures. So the lottery directors have to keep coming up with ways to continue increasing profits. The states have found that they make a large proportion of their revenue a couple times a year, when the jackpot in their big multi-state lotto game gets to the point that it gets the people who don't normally

Florida Lottery
I know that Florida had a chance to join Powerball a few years or so ago and they didn't do it. My question is why? I've been watching their lotto game and it doesn't seem to rollover much before someone wins. I know sometimes it can get high but from what I've seen it doesn't go far. What do ya'll think? Do you think in the future they will join a multi state game or do you think they will change the odds on their lotto game? Or both?

Streak of jackpot winners is bad luck for Powerball lottery sales
tg636: streaks of both winning and not winning go with the territory the states make money on even the lowest of jackpots.Todd: Sure, they make money, but less than what big multi-state games are supposed to make for a lotto game that has frequent winners, that's what your state's Pick 6 game is for. The big multi-state games are there to have big rollovers and big jackpots.I agree with tg636. On the other hand I also understand Todd's point, which is correct according to what a game like PB

Illinois $14,500,000
Yes, I am playing the Illinois Lotto until someone (hopefully me) wins the jackpot. The game is also a bargain: 2 plays for $1. For those who don't know, the Illinois lotto is a 6/52 game, and you win by matching 6, 5, 4, or 3 numbers. Match 6 of 6 for the jackpot (duh) Match 5 of 6 for a pari-mutuel prize averaging $1000 per ticket Match 4 of 6 for a pari-mutuel prize averaging $33 per ticket Match 3 of 6 for a fixed prize of $3 per ticket I've got the following 2 sets of numbers for

One jackpot winner in Michigan WinFall drawing
i hate the idea of a jackpot cap in general. it only really works with smaller prize amount games (I.E. Michigan Rolldown). it's like the state is saying that there's no way they can have an in-state game that will compare to a multi-state game. the michigan lottery should at least increase the jackpot cap to around 10,15, or 20 million, or even better, get rid of the jackpot cap. how often does someone match all 6 numbers in that game anyway? think about the rollovers if nobbody matched al

Mass. Lottery games to merge, jackpots to increase
massachusetts should extend their annuity period to 30 years, and offer a cash option of at least $1 million. that way, the annuity value would be greater, and there would be bigger rollovers in terms of the annuity value. either that or make all their games offer a lump sum jackpot instead of just mass cash. a lot of customers choose the cash option. on an average day in PA, i would see maybe one or two customers ask for the annuity value for the old super 6. the rest would ask for the cas

PA Super Six is going away...
We really should probably withhold judgement until we see the actual posted odds from the PA Lottery and really get a chance to digest the rules.Frankly, I applaud the PA Lottery for trying unusal rules with it's games. As a PA player I feel like I have a choice in the different types of games we can play. Cash 5 is a very good 5/39 game. Powerball is the best multi-state game (in my opinion). And while I wasn't a big fan of Super 6, I did like the 3 plays for a $1 concept. Something that appear
