Federal officials work to extradite Jamaican lottery scammers
Jamaican lottery scammer Sanjay Williams got off a plane in Charlotte, North Carolina, in June 2013, on his way to meet with the people who moved money for him. While the arrest on American soil spared authorities from extraditing Williams, rounding up his associate in the wide-ranging operation and 13 other suspects still believed to be in Jamaica is proving to be more o

'It was a horrible, horrible crime that I committed,' Jamaican lottery scammer repents
Charles Bennett had already lost his home and moved into a trailer to pay the scammers who had taken over his life. Soon he was hiding there in the dark, told in a late-night phone call that he was about to be arrested over unpaid bills. The 85-year-old Massachusetts man would be stopped from selling the trailer by a social services investigation, but he lost all control over his finances. Even then, he starved himself so he could hand over his food allowance to the scammers. He remained conv

The force was with this lucky winner By Kate Northrop Some people might use masks, others might wear dark sunglasses. Federal officials work to extradite Jamaican lottery scammers
I'm not seeing how any all access subscription service would prevent this scam from happening. The people who fall for the Jamaican lottery scam don't have an access issue, they have a greed and/or stupidity issue. Someone calls them up and says they've won a lottery in Jamaica (even though most of these people have never even left the US much less gone to Jamaica). Then they're told that in order for them to collect their winnings, they most first pay the taxes owed on it. After the first p

Cuban lottery system turns common words into numbers
They do this in Jamaica and Malaysia as well. Jamaica has a game called Cash Pot where they select a number between 1 and 36. I am not sure that they put the meanings up on the website anymore, but each number had a meaning (e.g. 5 was thief and 20 was sick person. ) If you search a Pick-4 number on the Malaysia Lottery's website, it will have a meaning associated with it. For example, my birthday (0104) is tiger-bone medicinal wine.

Prison guard wins $54 million lottery jackpot
Now this is a fairy tale story. From feces in the face to a multi-millionaire. I hope she does well with all that money. And I hope there's somewhere in Jamaica with high security to build that house for Mama. With all this publicity, there's going to be low-lifes looking for an opportunity. I think I'd get her out of Jamaica, where that kind of money can easily corrupt police or even government officials.
