Thanks for the info. For some reason powerball.com is blocked on my computer and won't come up on my Android either. The block just ended for Mega millions. Glad no individual state held up the data/security stuff to Iowa as happens infrequently!

Interestingly, it appears the official Mega Millions website got it wrong. The actual estimate for tonight is $1.13 billion , not $1.12 billion. That's a difference of $10,000,000, so not insignificant. I will cross-post this on the Powerball story too, since there's discussion about it there.

I've been mistaken about the Mega Millions before. However, considering the date, there might be a partial reversal; we'll see. I predict the jackpot could reach 2 billion. I'm only betting $4, if even that. Let's see what unfolds. Good luck to all! I'll also keep an eye on the challenges. I was advised to examine the sequence closely. It appears there's a repetition of two numbers followed by two single numbers. But we shall see; I can't guarantee anything.

Since Doubleplay came here, I stopped playing with Powerplay except on-line. That option still not available. Maybe frayed logic, but the second set of #'s could yield me $10 million vs max of $2 million with Powerplay. Now for Mega millions, she still gets Megaplier!

I been thinking of hanging it up myself. Been playing the same numbers for 20 years and nothing. Powerball draw my first and third number come out the rest where off between 1-3 numbers 'last nights draw'. And mega millions about '2 draws ago my first and second numbers come out'. I get the astromical odds but jeez. Throw a dog a bone every now and then. So now I'm on the fence of just stopping all together . Or if I keep playing. Do I switch my numbers that where already drawn to different ones

Here is an alternative to quit playing the lottery. Spend a lot less money by joining a pool. For the current series of Mega Millions draws, I have been spending only 35 cents per draw. The pool is buying 20 tickets per draw. Not a lot of tickets but still enough to win. My share of the jackpot for the Friday draw is $3 million. This is the cash value and before taxes.
