Audit finds 'ticket cashers' remain problem for Mass Lottery
Allow winners to avoid paying taxes, support The Massachusetts State Lottery continues to have a widespread problem with ticket-cashers'' who claim prizes valued at millions of dollars, apparently allowing the actual winners to avoid taxes on their winnings, the state auditor said yesterday. An audit released yesterday, as well as prior reports, found numerous instances in which certain people were claiming hundreds of prizes worth millions of dollars,'' State Auditor A. Joseph DeNucci's o

Florida: 8/1 - 8/31/2010
I am going to set up my own audit system to demonstrate why I hold these opinions, so if Florida keeps this up (which it most likely will), you will understand how their daily games appear to be constrained and controlled, with documented facts to back it up. I am not out with a grudge or anything, I am suggesting that there is a mechanical bias that is preventing their daily games from being truly random, and with documented facts my argument can garner credibility. I should have done this mont

What Are Your Personal Feelings On Computers?
I know a little about pseudo random number generator algorithms and I know that they are anything but random but the real issue I have with computers for lottery draws is disclosure. It's easier to audit simple physics then it is to audit code. Just like seeing how a bicycle works versus how a car works, there's simply more transparency both literally and figuratively.

Arkansas Lottery director scolded by legislators
Updated Nov. 11, 2010, 5:58 pm: Additional detail about audit and findings, with quotations from Passailaigue An Arkansas state audit has revealed a variety of deficiencies in how the Arkansas lottery is being run, and one legislator told the lottery director he would be gone if he led any other state agency. Members of the Legislative Audit Committee on Friday told lottery chief Ernie Passailaigue that they're not satisfied with how he has addressed problems that have come up since the lo

Ohio Lottery opposes state audit
State employees get a bonus? A performance reward? Who decides that and how much? Yep the highest paying positions are at the lottery and I don't think that's right. Who does the performance evaluation to determine a bonus? I would think it would be para-mutual to be fair to all state employees, or at least those working for the lottery. I think there should be no protest to any local, state or federal audit. That is unless the same company(s) get to do the audits. The real test will b

Minnesota Lottery audit finds high costs, no crime
The Minnesota State Lottery spends more money and provides less to the state than comparable lotteries and should revisit its ties to the St. Paul-based marketing company Media Rare Inc., auditors reported Thursday.Legislative Auditor James Nobles released the audit of the lottery about three weeks after former Lottery Director George Andersen died, apparently by suicide. Andersen had met with auditors about the review the day before he was found dead. We found many things to question and critic

Do you believe lottery officials stalk certain players?
Just like The IRS, Lottery Officials have to perform a cost/benefit analysis to determine whether or not to go after somebody they think is cheating. The IRS knows how much it costs them to audit someone or a small business. If they think they'll collect more money than it would cost them to audit a taxpayer, then they'll very likely perform an audit. Otherwise they wont. It'd be crazy for any given state lottery to go after someone they think made $100 illegally if it would cost the Lottery

California lottery shorted schools by $36 million, auditor says
The California lottery skimped on giving $36 million in revenue to fund public education and spent $720,000 on food and travel expenses without considering cheaper options, the state auditor said in a report made public Tuesday. Sales from scratch and lotto tickets have funded public schools and colleges in California since 1985. But the lottery should have accounted for an increase in profits during the fiscal year that ended in June 2018 by turning over an additional $36 million to finance

Player Audit of State Lottery Games
As a Lottery Player, I want to request an audit or attendance at my state lottery drawings. Does anyone know if this is allowed? Should be since we the players are who pay for the lotteries, lottery office management, overhead, etc. For the biggies MEGAm POWERb, player groups should be allowed to attend/witness the live draws at the state that manages these games, e.g. Iowa and Georgia. What do you think? In other words, I WANT TO SEE FOR MYSELF THOSE BALLS FALL FROM THE MACHINES. Malin1257

And pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! make them: RNGs, [computer generated numbers] each one of them, instead of ball drawings...RNG is better, RNGs are vastlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! superior than ball drawings... What people dont know is that a computer or supercomputer working as an RNG can do its own audit, it doesnt need human hands to do it...And unlike 1 audit sweep that balld
