Texas Gov. proposes selling the lottery
This would make the majority of Megamillions states private in the near future. Considering the disasters that McDonalds had with it's game it's only a matter of time before a scandal would hit private run lotteries. Scandals in private run lotteries were the reason lotteries were banned in the 1800's. I'm sure Indian casinos would pay big bucks to shut down US lotteries should a scandal occur. Considering the money involved and the likelyhood of legislators restricting the business it seems

Hoosier Lottery Does It Again
LOTTOMIKE:There is good reason why this hasn't happened yet. According to Indiana state law, a person who works for the lottery in any capacity is forbidden to divulge confidential lottery information. This is how they nailed Mr. Holcraft, an internal investigator who blew the whistle to law enforcement when he learned of William Foreman's friendship with Foltz and Daniels (of the scratch-off ticket scandal). However, it wasn't yet a scandal at this point, and would only become one after Losin

Are Lotteries Rigged
dear players,i have been following this thread for sometime now but can't help to think the following: the states wouldn't risk messing with the games simply because any current employee involved in a scandal of that nature is a potential whisle blower waiting to go off. most, if not all, of the corporate scandals we have seen in recent years have been brought to public attention by some former employee who was unhabby with their employer over something or another. if a lottery scandal of the

Iowa court reverses part of Tipton's lottery fraud conviction
An Iowa appeals court on Wednesday upheld a former lottery employee's conviction for rigging the computer system to generate the winning ticket in a $16 million jackpot, but reversed a conviction for attempting to cash in on the ticket. The conviction stems from Eddie Tipton's work for the Iowa-based Multi-State Lottery Association, or MSLA, which produces computers that generate random numbers for lotteries in multiple states. As an employee of the association, Tipton was barred from playing

Convicted computerized drawing fraudster argues Iowa court appeal
The attorney for a former lottery official accused of fixing jackpots in several states argued Thursday that his client's conviction last year on fraud charges should be thrown out. Eddie Tipton, the former Multi-State Lottery Association computer security director, appealed his July 2015 convictions related to fixing an Iowa Hot Lotto game in 2010, which resulted in a 10-year prison sentence. He is free on bond during the appeal. Tipton's attorney, Dean Stowers, told a three-judge Iowa Co

Paranoid or Prudent?
You're dealing with the dirtiest industry I've ever seen in my 30 years of doing business... -former Kentucky Lottery CFO Russ Davidson as quoted in the Atlanta Journal Constitution While this remark has no context attached to it, I do believe it generally reflects the nature of the Lottery industry in the United States and indeed worldwide. I joined Lottery Post in good faith just as I played the Lottery in good faith. But my experience with
