The odds question
match odds odds/24 lines 6/49 6/6 1 : 13983816 1 : 582689 5/6 1 : 54201 1 : 2258 4/6 1 : 1032 1 : 43 3/6 1 : 57 1 : 2 2/6 1 : 8 3 : 1 The odds of matching 2/6 with 24 lines are better than 1 : 1 so your friend will always match two but that doesn't make matching 6/49 easier.

Mathematical Principles with the Lottery
As that TED-Ex course video suggests numbering systems with different bases have their advantages for example computer chips uses a system based on two's (on/off) internal and convert to a system based on 10 to communicate with humans. Using a numbering system based on 70-100 where each lottery number had its own symbol might work better in a lottery program. I started doing that a few years ago and now i see patterns that I would never see when they are displayed in a base 10 system.

Request = algorithm pattern simulator for lotteries
Which game? The algorithm would probable have to be unique for each game depending on combination and pool sizes. I've found even similar games hardly ever work exactly the same, each is unique.
