£1 million EuroMillions prize goes unclaimed
A United Kingdom lottery player from Leicestershire has missed out on the chance to become a millionaire.
UK National Lottery bosses announced that the deadline to claim the EuroMillions win expired at midnight yesterday.
The winning ticket, bought in Leicester, would have allowed the holder to claim a EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker prize from the draw on Tuesday, December 23.
A National Lottery spokesman said that as the deadline has now passed the money, plus the interest it earned

N.C. man to buy his wife a Corvette after lottery win

A Lexington, North Carolina, man who won a $377,241 lottery jackpot said he plans to buy his wife a Corvette convertible.
Michael Scarlett matched all five numbers in the April 16 Carlina Cash 5 drawing, according to lottery officials. He played a Quick Pick, meaning he allowed the lottery terminal to randomly assign his ticket numbers.

Spaniards celebrate 'El Gordo' victories in world's biggest lottery
Thousands of Spaniards including humble restaurant workers and care home residents celebrated wins in the world's biggest lottery draw on Monday, scooping up shares in over 2.2 billion euros (US$2.7 billion) in prizes doled out across the country.

Half brothers fight over million dollar lottery ticket
Two estranged half brothers faced off on Tuesday in a Pennsylvania court in a fight over a winning million-dollar lottery ticket.
Ira Sharp claims he gave his half brother Charles Meehan $20 to buy a Hot Million instant ticket in Johnny Joe's sports bar and they agreed to split any winnings, Sharp's attorney R. Mark Thomas said in the Cumberland County Court of Pleas.
The ticket was a winner, but Meehan tried to hide it and keep all of the money, the attorney said.

New Arizona Lottery game on sale Sunday
'All or Nothing' to be drawn twice a day, replaces 2by2 game

A popular new lottery game format is now finding its way to Arizona.
Starting Sunday, Arizona lottery players will be able to buy tickets for the latest Arizona Lottery game called All or Nothing.
In the new game, players choose 10 numbers from a total pool of 20 numbers, and they can win the top prize by matching either all or none of the 10 numbers drawn to the numbers on their game ticket.

Newest Pa. lottery scratch-off sports $30 pricetag
The Pennsylvania Lottery earlier this week launched its most expensive instant lottery ticket, a $30 scratch-off that offers a top prize of $3 million.
The game, appropriately called Three Million, is already in place at many of the places that sell instant tickets. It is the state's third $20 or more instant prize game offered at 9,100 retailers statewide.
So far, local lottery players have been slow to try the new game.

Two Scots fail to collect £1 million lottery prizes
Two people have missed out on the chance to become millionaires after failing to collect their lottery prizes in time.
The deadline for claiming the two 1 million prizes expired at 11pm Wednesday, more than 180 days after the EuroMillions draw on July 26.
One of the winning tickets was bought in Fife and the other in East Dunbartonshire.
