Scientific Games to close Texas plant
Lottery operator Scientific Games Corp said it plans to close its plant in San Antonio, Texas, citing adequate production capacity in its other plants worldwide, a move that will affect about 350 jobs. The Megabucks prize for Wednesday's draw has surpassed recent record levels, with a current (annuitized) jackpot of $8,900.000. Former lottery commissioner Kevin Geddings was sentenced to four years in prison today on charges that he hid his financial ties to a company expected to bid for the state's lottery business.
