State of Oregon forcing retailers to pay taxes on video lottery machines that are shut down
Hundreds of bars and restaurants already struggling to survive are now facing another financial setback. The Oregon Lottery is collecting taxes on each video lottery machine, even though the machines are shut down.

Virginia Lottery March profits took a big hit
The Virginia Lottery is still running during the COVID-19 pandemic, but its March profits dropped 28 percent, according to a new agency report.
The Lottery took in $48 million in profits for March, down more than a quarter compared to the same month last year.

Missouri Lottery sales drop amid coronavirus response
With Missouri already losing tax revenue from the shutdown of the state's casinos, sales of lottery tickets have taken a nosedive as people stay home amid a pandemic.
According to a weekly sales update obtained by the Post-Dispatch, overall sales dropped by 11% this week compared to a similar period last week. Scratch off ticket sales have dropped 9% and lottery draw games are down 11%.
For the lottery, that amounts to a total sales drop of more than $1.7 million.

A man is accused of exploiting a flaw in the Arizona Lottery vending machines to get over $55,000 worth of lottery tickets.

Maryland Lottery launches new Fast Play instant games

Starting Monday, Maryland Lottery players will be able to play a new category of instant game that doesn't require any scratching.
Fast Play games are instant tickets that you don't have to scratch. They are printed by Lottery terminals and self-service vending machines, just like draw game tickets. But you find out instantly if you've won no scratching and no drawings.
Five different Fast Play games will go on sale at all Maryland Lottery retailers on Feb. 10.

Kentucky Lottery president and CEO set to retire
In today's meeting of the Kentucky Lottery Corporation's board of directors, Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie announced his retirement effective March 6.
