Rhode Island Lottery celebrates first raffle drawing
Rhode Island didn't have any trouble selling out its first-ever raffle game.
The drawing was held last night, and the full list of winning numbers are available on Lottery Post's Rhode Island Lottery Results page (www.lotterypost.com/results/ri).
With only 120,000 tickets available for sale, the state Lottery Commission proclaimed the New Year's Eve drawing as having the best odds among New England lotteries to win $1 million.
Tickets for the raffle cost $20 each.

One lucky person from Rhode Island is holding the winning ticket from last night's $151 million Powerball drawing. Lottery officials aren't sure who the lucky winner is yet.

GTECH sale closer as more states approve
The sale of West Greenwich-based GTECH Holdings Corp. to Italian lottery giant Lottomatica SpA this week inched toward completion.
Lottomatica said that the state lotteries would continue existing contracts with GTECH, which it plans to buy in a $5 billion deal that would create the world's biggest lottery operator.
