Quest for lottery jackpot denied again
The long-running case of Clarence Jackson, who has been fighting for 19 years to claim $5.8 million in lottery winnings, encountered another setback Tuesday when a legislative committee voted 13-12 to reject his case.
Jackson held a winning lottery ticket, but tried to redeem it three days past the deadline. Since then, Jackson has been on a roller coaster with the once-in-a-lifetime ticket that would have made him a millionaire.

Calif. man knew he won $1M but lost the lottery ticket

A California Lottery winner lost out on the opportunity to claim his $1 million Powerball prize after he misplaced his ticket.
The man saw news reports about himself buying the ticket in Rosemead and came forward, saying he was the winner, KABC-TV reported. But, he said, he lost his ticket.
Because Powerball rules require the winner to produce the actual winning ticket, he was ineligible to collect his winnings, California Lottery spokesman Alex Traverso said.

It's the big Christmas payout that will never be.
Two months ago, someone won $1 million on a Powerball ticket at an Albuquerque, New Mexico, gas station. The deadline for claiming the huge prize came and went Wednesday, with nobody stepping forward with the winning ticket.

You might want to check your junk drawer and anywhere else you might put a lottery ticket: a $12 million Florida Lottery ticket remains unclaimed.
The Florida Lottery say the winning Quick Pick ticket is set to expire at midnight on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014.
The winning numbers are 12, 16, 23, 33, 46, and 50.

$12 million Texas lottery jackpot unclaimed
Somebody lost millions of dollars Monday evening that they probably never knew was theirs.
Six months after beating astronomical odds to win the Lotto Texas jackpot, the simultaneously lucky and cursed person failed to materialize before a deadline to redeem the winning ticket officially worth $12 million, and $7.5 million in immediate cash.
It was biggest unclaimed Lotto prize since 2001 and the third largest since the game started in 1992, according to the Texas Lottery Commission.

$12M Texas Lottery jackpot set to expire Monday
According to the Texas Lottery Commission, there could be a multi-millionaire in the League City-area sitting on a winning lotto ticket from January 1.

Two Scots fail to collect £1 million lottery prizes
Two people have missed out on the chance to become millionaires after failing to collect their lottery prizes in time.
The deadline for claiming the two 1 million prizes expired at 11pm Wednesday, more than 180 days after the EuroMillions draw on July 26.
