VT Lottery had $1 million in unclaimed prizes
The Vermont Lottery ended its budget year with $1 million in unclaimed prizes for winning scratch-off tickets, a $400,000 jump over the amount of prize money that players failed to collect the previous year.
The extra money went to the state's Education Fund.

A Swanton, Vermont, man who read a news report about unclaimed Megabucks winnings discovered he had one of the $10,000 tickets in his wallet, Vermont Lottery officials said Thursday.
Jon Trahan purchased several tickets in February at the Swanton Short Stop but then lost his wallet containing the tickets during an out-of-state trip, lottery officials said. When police returned the wallet, the cash was missing, but the lottery tickets were still there.

Deadline looming for unclaimed $15M lottery jackpot
All the major prizes that have gone unclaimed in Alberta since the inception of Lotto 6/49 combined don't add up to the amount the latest unclaimed jackpot is worth, Western Canada Lottery Corporation officials said Monday.

The State of New Jersey became $10.8 million richer yesterday when no one came forward to redeem a lottery ticket worth that much from a Pick 6 drawing a year ago.

Ohioans won $17 million and never bothered to collect their prizes.
