Does anyone know if there is anything about the card number (usually at the bottom of the ticket - like ticket number 28 out of the roll of 100) that would indicate whether or not that ticket is a winner?  Coming back through a small Florida town last week, we were buying some tickets and mostly all they had were the $20 and $10 tickets.  I mentioned that they didn't have hardly any $1 and no $2 tickets, and they clerk said that everyone around there buys the higher priced tickets and pay their rent with their winnings.  So, I bought a $20 Gold Rush.  She had four different rolls of these and she pulled out the first one in each roll, looked at the number at the bottom of it, and then settled on one and said "Here, give this one a try".  Sure enough I won $100.  I asked her if there was something about the numbers that she could tell that it would be a winner, and she said that she couldn't tell me.  Any ideas?

I've done research and I've played a lot of tickets from $1-$10.  For me I've noticed if it's an even number your chances of winning are a lot higher.  Also, numbers that end in 0 or 5 are really good.  I've also won a lot by buying number 100, 105, and 25.  However, with that said I won $50 on 003 yesterday.  I always ask the retailer what number is the next ticket for $2 and up.  If it's around 100 ($2)  or an even $5 or $10 I'll buy it.

How are you going to win if you don't play?

I recently won $400.00 on the $1.00 scratch off Diamond Dash, the ticket number was 181.....and on Jumbo Bucks  a $500.00 winner was ticket number 076.

      Good Luck,

      Summer

        Good Luck,

WTG.  The most I can win is $50 (win for life) and $20 (Jumbo Bucks).  The most I've won so far has been $75.  I'm gonna keep trying I guess.

I buy only $10.00 & $20.00 tickets, an only one here and there. If you spend a lot on instant tickets you will get killed. I won a $1,000 on a ten dollar ticket last year. Good Luck. Thumbs Up

I've always had the best luck from the first five and last five in a book.

I used to be a manager at a convenience store and would buy whenever I opened a new book.

There is a way to check for a winning ticket, however it's illegal. Working in a store many moons ago I noticed that whenever I had a winning ticket, after scratching off the gray strip at the bottom, at the end of the serial numbers is, I think a "w" or something representing a winner.

It's been a long time now so I don't remember, but I will call a friend who lives in california. He will remember. I will keep everyone posted.

I'm in no way condoning any illegal activity whatsoever. Just thought it was interesting to point out.US Flag

That's why I refuse to buy them when the bottom number is showing.  I ran into this one time and I notified the TN lottery about it and in a week or so they weren't selling tickets anymore.

Well here's an update on the gray strip at the bottom of the scratch-off ticket. I called my friend in california and he reminded me that certain 2 or 3 letter hints were given such as "hun" for a hundred dollar winning ticket.....or "fty" for a fifty...and so on.....I think at the end of the serial number.

Again this is illegal. (just a disclaimer...that's all)....

Personally I think the only way to win anything with scratchoffs
is to buy the darn ticket.  I just cannot see how anyone can
determine a winning scratch ticket from experience or logic.
