there are 2 tips I would like to share...
1 excel "grid"
if you would like to use excel as "graph paper"
A. click on the epty block beside the A column marker and above the 1 row marker (this selects the whole sheet)
B. set uniform column widths by selecting the line between A and B and dragging it left or right, it will display a width by the cursor in lenght and pixels (pixels are important for this) set it to 20 pixels
C. set uniform height by selecting the line between 1 and 2 and dragging it up or down (a heigt info appears in length and pixels.. move that to 20 pixels...
while still selecing the whole sheet, go to format/cells/borders and click the box one and the + one to darken all lines
and presto... uniform graph paper from excel ;-)
2. formulas in conditional formatting
use this if you want to enter draw data in a range and have it highlight in a field of the numbers
for example A1 to E1 contains the numbers for a cash 5 type game... F1 to whatever1 contains the numbers in the game
in cell F1, use the following formula in conditional formatting
cell value is
equal to
=lookup(F1,$A1:$E1)
what this does is highlight not one, but all of the drawn numbers when autofilled across and down
this is the easy way to recreate the chief's old bell curve sheet, he used to color the cells by hand
hope someone finds use for them ;-)
