Thanks BobP, that is a whole new way of looking at numbers. Beats license plates, gas pump totals, speed limits, advertising billboards with numbers that jump out at us, and any other numbers that find their way into our consciousness. I live in fear of finding another players filled out lottery slip, I think I'd have to play those numbers too because fate left it there for me to find. Do you have any lottery superstitions? In the meantime, I will continue to use Gail Howard's methods, I like her skip and hit chart and games out of view history. Haven't had much luck, so I'm going to try Down's suggestion and continue to select and play the numbers I didn't select. Couldn't do any worse.

The problem with Gail's numbers is you usually find two, three or four of the winning numbers among the first 24 picks of the 49+ numbers, so playing the other half doesn't help.
For a time I had some success letting the smart picks pick all the numbers and started looking at where among those picks were blocks of numbers that often contained the winning numbers, like the first six often had one or two of the winning numbers, so they were the first on the wheel. The last eight also often had one or two winning numbers. From this I'd load a 3if6in24 non-split wheel like this, same as I'd recomend for the dollar system. BobP

cool idea another one i sometimes use is the serial number on the back of lotto tickets i can't tell you how many times i have bought lottery tickets and the winning pick 3 or 4 number was on the back of one of my tickets. You know those last 3 or 4 digits.
i'll have to take a gander at the pick 5/6 games using those digits. same principal would apply.
