I live in North Carolina, but I drove to Virginia to buy a MM ticket.  Will I pay state income tax in VA or in NC?  or Both?  This is likely a dumb questions, but wanted some clarification.

    Lottery winnings are treated like regular income. If you lived in North Carolina and worked in Virgina, you would pay the higher of the two or both which ever is the most, same with lottery winnings.
