I'm from Boston MA. I've got alil disposable income from my taxes & wanna try my luck on some scratchers. What I wanna know is, if I buy say 45 $5.00 scratch tickets, what could be my odds on getting a decent win? I don't really care bout tryin to hit big, a grand would be cool, but this is more just for fun as I don't play very often. Also, should I buy 45 of the same or spread it out? When I do play, I usually goto alil spot in Quincy(For any MA people out there this place is pretty decent)where I hit 200.00 on one 5 buck ticket. Any help would be great!
Thanks

I would buy 5( $5 each ) from different rows rather than all on the same row. Although if you buy all 45 tickets on the same row, you will get couple of wins. Most likely you will win back 1/3 of your money back unless you hit a jackpot. If you buy 5 each from different rows, you spread your risk around. Just like investing in the stock market. Never put all you eggs in one basket.
Good Luck and remember me when you win.

Thanks Odds aren't good for hitting something like a $200.00 win within a line of 45 tickets... I'm assuming your (MA) $5 tickets come in rolls of 40 tickets ($200.00 worth of tickets) - generally speaking when you buy a full roll of tickets you have better chances of doing better than the predicted statistics printed on the tickets just by the nature of standard deviation - therefore, spending $200.00 on a 40 count roll of $5 tickets would probably end up netting you winnings between $120 & $160 some rolls will be better & some worse obviously but when it comes to buying scratchers you have 2 options buy 3 tickets or less if you hit on one or buy the whole roll like you're suggesting. Didn't mean to ramble on, but this is just my experience with Scratchers. Hope this helps you, PoGo (Good Luck!!!)

Your best bet would be to buy $20.00 tickets. The state has a bigger advantage over the player on lower priced games. For example in CT the states initial advantage on a $1.00 ticket is around 35%, a $5.00 ticket is about 30% and $20.00 tickets are only about 26%. Higher priced games in all states offer better odds than lower priced games. Unfortunately, Mass doesn't provide enough info for you to figure out which $20.00 ticket is best.
GOOD LUCK!!
