Thanks Four..maybe if and when they decide to play again we will have learned a little more so we will have a little better chance to win next time..but I have to admit though..I had alot of fun playing..I never thought the stock market was interesting until I decided to play this game..so I learned some things and took a little more interest in the market..

Next time Foiur..You and me are going to win one of them weekly gifts..that is my prediction for 2009...hahahaha

According to some CNBC web blog i read apparently there are only 20 players in the finals not 20 thousand. And you guessed it I'm not one of them. LOL So congratulations to them i hope they have fun.

Yes the next time we will collaborate on this game make some plans ahead of time, i should have done some reading up on the currency's exchange as i think some well placed trades can get enough cash going to buy additional stock. Remember the more cash you earn the more stock you can buy.

Heh Four..I am with you on the currency trading..some of the players possibly many of them were doing both stocks and currency and got a HUGE BOOST in their totals..we will have to get us a book or 2 and do some reading ..maybe we can get a good general idea on how that currency trading is done..

I might send CNBC an email to tell them..Suggest to them..they shouild just run the game all year long..instead of 500.000 to one winner..just run it year round and have a 10k weekly prize or 40 or 50 k monthly prize..looks to me with the finacial crisis their ratings should be up and the web traffic has to be up because of the game..looks like that would be something to keep people interested  in both CNBC TV and their website..either way I still had fun playing and cant wait til the next time..

Heh Four..do you see rows 9, 10 and 19..I wonder if that is the same person..hahaha..looks like a collaberative effort if it is not the same person...I kinda wish now that I had played all 5 portfolios now..but no big deal..its kinda hard to compete against professionals on this..kinda like me ( The Golfer) playing against Tiger Woods..I have never bought a book on a hobby before..I might try to find me some Investing for Dummie's Books just to try and expand my understanding a good bit...

LB, We may never know who they are they could be family members. There are supposedly a couple books written just for this game. I will see if i can find them on the web.

Like i have said normal investment strategys don't apply to this game because of the rules. Unless you understand the rules which are completely different from standard practices. The first time i played the game i had to read the rules several times to get an understanding of how the game works. Even after all the reading i still had a hard time figuring out a plan. I tried everything i could to build a profitable portfolio. Mostly i found by just leaving a portfolio alone and letting it earn was the best strategy. Every time i made changes to a portfolio it went down instead of up.

Many stocks swing widely in one direction or another over the course of weeks and months going up and then down. Finding stock that will continuously rise over the ten week period is essential to winning this game. Or knowing when to dump stock for another profitable stock is also a key.

When they run another game establish all 5 portfolios use a couple and keep a couple in reserve answer all the daily quiz question and the bonus bucks will automatically apply to all 5 portfolio's regardless of what portfolio you are using.

Heh Four...next time lets get our name on there..hahaha...I am not sure what is wrong with the market..but it is falling like a rock..if I had to make a guess I would say it is a combination of many things...trust..ponzi schemes..same as trust though...job market...The banks...JUST TO NAME A FEW..

I noticed on CNBC that those REPUBLICAN BROADCASTERS are trying their best to blame the fall in the market on Preseident Obama and his political agenda..I think it has more to do with the THIEVES on walstreet than anything...and not just walstreet either..they have been and will continue to find even more thieves before this is over....If I heard them correctly..if you had anything invested in the the major indexes past 10 plus years ..YOU ARE IN THE negative return on your investments..I think they said just the DOW alone was down 30-40 % past 10 years on investment returns..
