Maybe the Georgia lottery's website has some information on this.
I'm sure in states that do let players mix their numbers and quick picks that the terminal reads how many numbers were selected and then looks for the amount of numbers it takes to complete the ticket.
Since the technology is already there, it's too bad all states don't have this feature. I don't think it helps the players' odds one bit, but it would be fun.
