Are Lottery employees allowed to play Lottery games?

"...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace

Every year the Illinois Lottery has a tent at the Du Qoin state fair. they people who work for the lottery said they can't play the Illinois lottery but they go to Missouri to play.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

      Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

If they are, they aren't allowed to win.

          Q. Who is prohibited from playing and winning Florida Lottery games?

          A. Anyone under the age of 18, Florida Lottery employees, relatives of Florida Lottery employees living in the same household as the employee and certain employees of vendors who provide goods and services to the Florida Lottery cannot play Florida Lottery games.

Please use descriptive subjects for topics.  I have changed this one to "Can lottery employees play the lottery?"

The original subject "Dumb question" does not say anything about the topic.

Lottery employees in my state aren't allowed to play either. I am guessing, that is a rule in most if not all states.

I should hope not. If they were, then it would be quite easy for them to find a way to get their numbers to win (think the Pennsylvania Lottery 666 scandal).

Today's winning 3-ball is going to be a number between 000 and 999.

In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!

I dunno, but that would be like trying to beat the house when you are the house. Not that it has not happened before,... I'm just saying....

What happened in Pennsylvania many years ago led to most if not all lottery's creating security measures that rival some of the security measures used at most banks.

My state sells Powerball.  Does anyone know if a lottery employee could drive over to Oregon and play Powerball there?   I bet not, huh.  But they probably could play any online games or scratch-offs that aren't sold in Idaho.
