They have those places all over the Place. there are 2 of them 5 mins. away from me. Richmond Hts. Actually there is something similar in KY and are usually located in a back corner in some gas station convenient stores. They are touch screen slot machines. I'm a little skeptical of the legality because I've never seen any advertisement but I have seen people playing.

The term "Internet Café" is not an accurate description because these machines aren't connected to the internet and I doubt the machines in Ohio are either. Internet Cafés are usually places where people use the café's computers to get online or the café offers wireless connections for laptops. There were many online gambling sites where players could deposit an amount of money and play video slot machines in their home. However because of the online gambling bill, U.S. players can no longer deposit money (or at least it's difficult) into their accounts.

Sweep Stakes Games,are what they call them,we have those Machines that your are talking about in the Convient stores,or Beverage store, but they don't give your real money,you can ge ta Gas Card. I'm talking about the illegal regular and touch screen slot machines that I've seen all over the country. Thirty years ago many service clubs (VFW, American Legion, Elks, Moose, etc.) had them in back rooms, out of sight of state liquor board control agents and many still do.

On WVA Rt. 2 on the PA border they had illegal casinos and all the service and private clubs had those machines before they were put into the Mountaineer Race Track. Some used tokens instead of coins and used print outs when the touch screen technology caught up; video slots, poker, keno, and various other games. You put cash ($1 to $20) into the machines and the cashout was printed paper which you took to a cashier.

In West Virginia the state lottery legally placed them in race tracks like Mountaineer Park Wheeling Downs before they went to regular slot machines and eventually to all casino type gambling. If you've been to Mountaineer Park, you probably noticed the old type "Select a Game" touch screen games that are the same.

In many states without legal gambling, they still have these illegal machines in convenient type stores depending on the local county Sheriff turning their back. And the payoffs are in real money; not in sweep stakes or gas cards. Now that Ohio has legal slot machines at the race tracks and the surrounding states (PA, WVA, Michigan, and Indiana) have legalized casino gambling, I don't know why anybody would want to play the same type of games for prizes and gas cards when they can legally play for money.

Tiggs, I should add that I've seen them in Dry counties like Lincoln, Rockcastle and Pulaski though there might be some in Wet counties too.
