I mostly play powerball and mega millions when the jackpots get over $60 millions.

The lottery biggest secret.BUYING MORE TICKETS INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING

what about all the other people that bought only one ticket and won big? search the forums, there are lots of stories where one ticket was all that was needed. For every story where someone had to buy multiple tickets, there are like 2 stories of someone winning big with only one ticket.

Go on youtube and look up "Jose Salmon" He spent $600 a day on lotto tickets for almost 10 years before winning 13 million (annuitized pre-tax) in the Florida lotto. That's the Florida Lotto, where the odds of winning (1 in 14 million) are much better than the multi-state lottos (1 in 195 million for powerball).

I would post links but then I'd end up being kicked off the website.

It's one ticket per draw for me unless the jackpot is some insanely high amount, then I might get $10 worth of tickets.

yeah, this was the video I was talking about. My favorite part is when he talks about how the lotto office wired only 5.3 million to his bank account.

                    What meds are you on?

It's not a secret, it is common sense.

Folks have spent hundreds of thousands playing and losing, and folks have spent $1 one time and won, and everything in-between.

You spend what you can reasonably afford, and if you go overboard, too bad so sad.

I used to spend $10/draw, did really well for awhile, won $100 eleven times, cut it back to $2 per draw, won $100 twice, but that is my comfort level.

2:100 IS BETTER THAN 1:100 , so why don't you buy $1 per draw instead of $2 per draw? and you are right, it is not a smart idea to spend money that you can't afford to lose. When you played $10 per draw you won 11 times versus 2 times at $2 per draw.

if there was a lotto where the odds of winning was a hundred to one, you could buy 50 tickets. Then, if you make a pie chart of your chances of winning, half the pie would represent your chances because you greatly improved your odds.

If you had a game like power ball, with a 195 million to one odds and you made a pie chart, your chances of winning with one ticket would be represented by only a tiny sliver on the chart. If you made another pie chart with your chances of winning with 1,000 tickets, your chances of winning will still be represented by a tiny sliver.

One ticket gets you from having zero chance at winning to a chance, a thousand additional tickets, would help you very little. This is why I would recommend one ticket per draw in most cases but of course everyone is different. Set out a budget and buy as many tickets as you feel comfortable with.
