Ya know, I'm tired of runnin' against the wind with this Take5 game, so I just did somethin' about it!
See, a few hours go, I logged on to my bank's website, and lo and behold, there was a little somethin' extra sittin' in my checking account. That's due to the fact I filed my Federal income taxes electronically a week or so ago, and The IRS kicked me back a few bucks!!! Not much ya understand, but it was enough that I figured I needed to treat myself to somethin' nice. Know what I mean? And if somebody else in this house saw that money before I did, well, she'd get her nails done, or go to the day spa, or somethin' crazy like that. So I made my move quickly.
Anyway, I decided I was gonna live large with T5 tonite! I ran down to the ATM, took out some cash-ola, and then roared over to that Shell station next to my bank. I went straight in and bought me 15 lines! (And a few PB line's with the Power Play played too!)
I really wanna win BIG tonite. That's cuz when I did my Federal Income taxes, I also did my State Income taxes. Andy Cuomo and his gang of thieves aint gonna hear from me until April 15th. That's when I'm gonna file my NY State income taxes. I'm sure you can figure out why.....
Now if I was to win BIG tonite, wouldn't THAT be somethin'???? Then I really would go ahead and file my NYS income taxes. I'd just be givin' Andy back some of the money he stole from me..... G5

I dunno know if it makes any sense to do this, but I've been looking at the numbers in a way I've never looked at them in the past.
I've been comparing short term trends to long term trends. Short term is the last 100 draws, and long term is the last 365 draws.
I've seen some interesting things by doing it.
A case in point is the 3. In the last 100 draws, (short term) it's hit 15 times, and is the fourth hottest number. The last 100 draws dates back to November 4, 2014. In the last 365 draws, the 3 has hit 34 times and is the 22nd hottest number, which is next to last place. Only one number, (the 30) has hit fewer times than the 3 in the last 365 drawings.
In 2015, the 3 has hit 10 times. That says 10 of those 15 hits in the last 100 draws happened in the last month and a half. 5 of the 15 hits happened in 2014, during November and December. That tells me the 3 is waking up and will probably move out of next to last place. In all of 2014, the 3 was the worst hitting number with a total of 31 hits. Compare that total with the 17's, which was the hottest number in 2014, with 59 hits.

Question is, will the 3 stay hot?? G5
In keeping with my post above, here's some more food for thought.
I've posted here before that any number that hits 60 times per year is hot and most likely would be the hottest number in any given calendar year. In a moving 365 day period, I've seen a few times where a number has hit 62 times, but that doesn't happen much. To me, a number with 60 hits has peaked, and IMHO has no where to go but down. (Meaning it's hit rate will most likely decline. That means if I'm playing it, but it's not hitting, that's not a good thing.)
On the other side of the coin, a number that has hit 30 times per year has a lot of potential for it's number of hits per year to go up. Here's why;
In all of 2014 the 3 hit 31 times. (The lowest number of hits for all 39 numbers) In the prior year of 2013, it hit 50 times. So it took a pretty good tumble in 2014. The same kind of thing happened from 2010 to 2011 with the 11. In 2010 the 11 hit 53 times, but tumbled to 32 hits in 2011.
Now take a look at the 8 in 2012. It was the lowest hitter of 2012 with 35 hits, but in 2013 it hit 50 times. In 2013, the 29 hit 34 times (2nd lowest for the year) but in 2014 it hit 55 times. The 29 is holding it's own on the rolling 365 day hit list with 49 hits, but as you can see, it's been declining.
The above doesn't always hold true with some numbers. For instance the 17 hit 55 times in 2013 and 59 times in 2014. The 4 which is the hottest short term trend number with 19 hits in the last 100 draws, has been on the move since 2013. It hit 46 times in 2013, and tied the 17 for the lead with 59 hits in 2014. In the moving 365 day category, it's in first place with 61 hits. The 17 is in second place in that category with 60. Sooner or later either one of them (or maybe both of them) will begin to decline. I wrote a lot in those two posts above. But who wants to read all that crap?
So I tried to think of a way to net it all down. Here's the best thing I could come up with.
If a number has been long term trending hot, chances are it's going to start declining, and you don't want to play it. On the other hand, if a number has been trending long term cold, it probably has a lot of upside potential and you probably should play it. G5
