When people say that a winner's identity should be revealed in order to convince skeptics that everything is legit, these are the types of people you're trying to convince. Paranoid conspiracy theorists.

Your post IMPLIES that you not stupid, why? because the " other games out there with millions of dollar jackpots & lower odds of winning are EASIER at winning. Really? how many times do you expect to Hit it, who do you know has? The operative word is TRY. You are going to " try" and win millions of dollars from the other games out there. I based my opinions on the fact that a few states are using computerized system to draw out the winning numbers after all the tickets are counted. the way that the tickets are counted is based on the sale of numbers that's done when the ticket slips goes through the lotto machine at the local shops. The same machines that prints out the tickets are(IMO) counts the numbers and sends that information to Lotto HQ. How else would they know who bought the winning tickets?

Amen to that,I stopped playing in Tennessee a year ago,talking about the money I have now is like hitting a jackpot...They are so crooked here its become funny to look at,,,After 10 years the payouts get lower and lower...I admit its hard to stop but its worth every penny of it.

It's posted on the TX state lotto site the days of the drawing. They only give the jp amount for MM but on PB they give you the lump sum amt, too. For MM, I have to estimate based on prior drawings. This time, I underestimated. Also, if you look at the PB posts and click view, you can see their future projections by highlighting the white area, copy & paste. Unfortunately, they have been over-estimating. However, if PB rolls tonight, it is guaranteed to be $90 million jackpot or $56.8 million lump sum which would be $34,307,200 after all federal taxes are deducted.

Only the minimum rollover amount ($10 million annuity for PB; MM appears to have none) added is guaranteed to any extent. In respect to Powerball, the estimated annuity jackpot is $75 million. If it rolls, as you point out, it will likely be advertised as $90 million or so annuity. However, both the cash and annuity numbers are NOT guaranteed. The winner could receive less.

This has happened in the past. Prime example was the widely advertised $600 million annuity Powerball jackpot back in 2013 in which the sole Florida winner was paid ~$590 million annuity. I was surprised Powerball didn't cover the difference (~$6 million cash) for goodwill to protect the brand. Some players did notice, and keep that incident in mind when wagering. Can't trust the advertised jackpot numbers; figure the actual amount could be less.

I know someone else who ticks me off yet I can see that person's post. Hey it is what it is however as some members take the lotteries too seriously.
