I think that kind of puts US into perspective.
Near 1.7 billion overweight people. Near 850 million malnourished. Near 760 million obese. Near 30,000 people starved to death today alone.
Over 2.5 TRILLION milliwatt hours of energy hitting the earth from the sun today alone, but 350+million MWH used from non-renewable sources with only near 63 million MWH used from renewable sources. Makes sense with the sun being here for how many years and as of now, enough oil to last, ah, a good 43 more years. Enough natural gas to last 163 years.
960+ million liters of water used and 800+ million that can't even get water safe enough to drink.
Near 3 billion acres of oxygen making trees cut down and near 4.4 billion pounds of toxic chemicals to kill us added to the environment.
Communicable disease deaths this year is 2.8 million + and grows 1 every 2 seconds. Flu related is 107,000+ and grows 1 about every 10 minutes. Is the the corona flu related or communicable disease?
And one of my favorites, $88+ BILLION spent on illegal drugs.
Stores are sold out of how much of what everywhere, yet stocks are falling out the bottom.
And WE are the top of the food chain and running the world? LOL. How do you not laugh?
China has over 4 times the people we have here and 24 times more than Italy. If the math worked out and 3,300 have died in China from this and already 4,900 in Italy. The people to death ratio involved would mean near 116,000 deaths in Italy alone. In the states here there have been near twice as many deaths as recovered with near 30,000 cases still going and the toll growing daily. Flu or not. I don't know. I'm not a doctor. I do think there is something more going on than we are being told as Stack mentioned. It makes no sense to close everything down for a "flu". To me anyway. If it is just a flu, why destroy the economy, have people lose what they have worked for by not being able to go to work, quarantine people and tell them to not leave the house? Something doesn't add up at all with it. World shut down over a flu? I mean, I know the world is getting pretty weak, but are we really so weak that we can't handle a flu bug? Something is not right with this at all. Did it come from a mutation? Maybe from the 4.4 billion pounds of chemicals we have put into the world this year? Chemicals used to make the things that make our lives so much better. Is it lab created? If so, by whom? China? Russia? Us? Iraq or Iran? A combination of any? Is it made by the earth to put a little balance into those beautifully, amazingly ridiculous stats stated above and in the link? Has God above brought it about to show us humility?
I don't care if you live in Green Bay or Timbuktu, if you can't see that they are shutting down the world over something that is supposed to be "common", that maybe, just maybe, there is something more going on with it than we are all being told, then I don't know what to tell ya. There is something that isn't right though. It may be "just a flu". The world wasn't shut down over the Ebola virus though was it? It had a 50% death rate. Still has no vaccine to beat it, yet they are shutting down the majority of the planet over a flu? Really?
And I'm not saying that we should just "give up". Just close ourselves in our house and wait for the end. I'm not. I'm not not because I'm scared of getting it. With the stats above, I'm a little ashamed of even being a human being to be honest. Especially the $88 BILLION spent on drugs. Talk about being weak. I'm not because I have family that I wouldn't want to give it to and possibly lose them. I'm not because why would I want to add more for these people that are trying to beat this, and possibly give it to them. Me wanting a Cadbury egg is hardly as important as catching and passing whatever this is to someone else. Yes. I go to the store and get what I need. I work from home, so I don't have to go anywhere. To the mail box and back is as far as I have to go. To be honest, I've worked and ran so much over my life, just being home most of the time feels good. My stress level is so much lower than being out there killing myself over a bunch of stuff I do not need in the first place. The world needs to take a step back and see what really matters in my opinion.
If none of the above is making sense, the U.S. Government is paying people to STAY AT HOME! Never In the history of humans has any government paid it's people to stay at home to not spread the flu. EVER! For once in the history of the U.S. they aren't just taking our money to build weapons to kill other people or line their pockets, and they are paying us to stay home and not spread the flu. And no. I don't want their check. I don't have anything to feed other than my pup and myself. They can give mine to one of the families that need water or some food. Or that can't afford to even get tested.
Seen a little name calling on here also. Boy, that really helps things out. That's exactly how we fix US as a people. Exactly how. Maybe we don't know someone's situation. Maybe we don't know what someone has been through in this life. We don't always see the people out there that are just trying to do what's right regardless of the outcome. Doing right doesn't always pay off in this life. It usually don't. From what I've seen anyway. Let's sure resort to name calling like a 12 year old though. Them not even coming back with a retort, sure tells me what kind or character they have and a MAN that they really are. Why is it that apologies are always harder than trying to hurt someone? Yes. That's rhetorical.
