A few days ago I was pulling into a shopping center when I saw a car driving in reverse. Then I saw & heard the crash. Everyone was okay, but the truck it hit was smashed on the side. I have no idea why he was backing up and figure he was at Albertson's or Target and forgot something. There was a gas station there as well, so maybe he decided to get gas or buy a lottery ticket as he was leaving. The woman he hit was lucky she was driving a fairly large pickup truck. He could have pulled out on the road and turned around. My father, who is 92 yrs old, is one of those people who will pass an exit sign on the interstate and back up which is why I refuse to get into his car and follow him whenever I visit.... [ More ]

I could understand this if he was in the middle of nowhere, but he was outside a restaurant when the transmission failed. No wonder they tested him for alcohol. Think about it...driving 12 miles in reverse. His neck must have been killing him.
