I would suggest getting behind Fair Tax which eliminates all federal payroll taxes and unless they come up with some totally brilliant idea should render lottery and gambling winnings as also being tax exempt .... being that they are now considered ordinary income. The federal government could get its cut when stuff is purchased and perhaps that would provide leverage for getting internet betting regulated and opened back up.

i agree with everything you said below.however if frist would've passed this bill the normal way i would've still been disapointed but i would've accepted the way he did it but what he did was very sneaky and the reason he did that was because he knew that was probably the only way it would get passed.the reason i don't like frist is because he didn't do it the regular way.he waited until the middle of the night on a weekend and slipped it into something that he knew nobody would dare vote against.pretty clever but not really fair.......... First, the main point of all of this is the one sentence, "This was probably an overreaction, since the new law will not actually do much." All the other hyperbole about the "dictator" Frist is a bunch of baloney, and all the reactions to this bill are an excuse to bash on people that such people love to bash on anyway.
