<br />I think saying "In any relationship in which two people become one, the end result is two half people" is really just what you wrote. That is, it's not necessary to give up your individuality to become close to another person. I always like to think of music when analyzing human behavior. If an instrument is well tuned, it will sound great by itself. But another instrument can join in and harmonize to make beautiful music together. I think we should all be able to feel secure and comfortable in being alone, but I don't think anyone really wants to get too used to the feeling of loneliness. That runs quite counter to our basic human nature as social creatures.

If the opposite sex was not around for the other person which happens all the time. You have to be able to help yourself and rely on yourself. Many women and men feel complete without a relationship and are quite happy. !

Lou Gossett Jr is a Drak (from another planet) who explains that humans have the need for 2 separate sexes because they do not feel whole when one is without the other.

People should feel complete before they meet someone.They are not half of a person. They need to have the confidence and like themselves before they can have a successful relationship with anyone.
