jarasan, I don't think that is correct. The Vista sounds are all-new. There is a document somewhere on the MS site that discusses exactly how they were made. It is more complex than it seems.

<br />I heard/saw that video clip long before Vista came out in January. It was based upon a beta version, but the sounds are basically correct.<br /><br />When you are accustomed to hearing the XP sounds for many years, it is a little jarring to hear such different noises -- which seem kind of wimpy in comparison. However, I guarantee that after you actually use your computer for a while with the new noises it will be the XP noises that seem incredibly JARRING. Vista is so much more REFINED,... [ More ]

Vista sounds are from Win 3.1 for workgroups, you know Bill Gates needs to save on production.
