While the scientists were mulling over the pictures, they realized that those dots were not infact stars, but galaxies. They zoomed in even further and the pics justified their assumption.&#x3c;br /&#x3e;&#x3c;br /&#x3e;Before that moment, the scientific community had agreed to the number of galaxies at about 50 billion.
