I doubt that MUSL made any changes without consulting the participating state lotteries. Whether those state lotteries listen to their constituents is a totally different subject. TX and Indiana are shining examples of lotteries that could care less about their players.

Some people just freak out about any change. Most players are just tired of the crummy little jackpots Powerball has been offering for a long time now. A game with the odds that Powerball has should have much larger pots instead of what would be a normal state lottery.

I like PB too, Bonnie. But PB's going to cease to exist a few draws from now. CT's already leaving PB, along with all the rest of us. The game we're all playing won't be PB. I believe we need more than one LP member from NY to be effective in making changes in the NY lottery.When I visit stores that sell NY Lottery tickets, I watch to see if anyone plays NY Lotto (terrible prizes) and politely tell the customer Mega Millions is a much better game. Same thing with scratch-offs, if the game(s) bought is/are annuity-only, and/or any of the three versions of Lose for Life .

You might want to check the PB web site. SC has a winner who remained Anonymous on June 26th of last year for $34+M. You are right, PA doesn't allow Anonymous but it does allow you to claim it as a trust/LLC or not stand in front of the press and play idiot. Well the governor has a choice, a game with lower odds and low jackpots with corresponding low sales or a game with slightly higher odds and (after a big jackpot) better sales. They could just keep the game the way it is now but forget about the jackpot even approaching 300 million. The odds seem way out of proportion now for a game that only gives it's players a 10-25 million dollar pot.

I think you're right about DE being the only state that officially allows you to remain anonymous. However, some other states have respected a winner's right to privacy, and do not release private details if requested. For example, Maryland is very good about respecting the wish to remain anonymous.

Well, there would be pros and cons. One is that we'd have another state minus a multi-state game (plus Florida). And such a move would prove to hurt Powerball's reputation. On the other hand, we'd have a lot more people playing Classic Lotto, and that would mean faster moving jackpots.
