Ohio has put a description of their new game Lot'O Play on it website. It's basically a bingo style game played on a 5x5 grid. The player can pick 5 numbers from 00-99 and the computer will pick 20 more or the computer will QP all 25 numbers. Since you can win straight down,across or diagonally you get 12 chances to match 2-5 for a win. This makes it a 5/100 game with 12 plays per $2 ticket. js:Yeah, we might get our own Unlucky for Life online game, or something else with a 40% payback. NY lottery players are rather stupid.

I guess not. But you might get some niche game someday. But don't expect it to replace Lotto. As much as you hate it for it's payout, others love it, as the rollovers are still about $2 mil at a time. Most MM states are lucky to get a quarter of that in their in-state games.

It's important because it will become Ohio's flagship game. And I would imagine that it will be drawn with balls because the rest of the games are. They'll only draw 5 numbers.

I hope this bingo game called Lot 'O Play in Ohio helps their sales make up for the lack of sales produced in Ohio Lottery. Why is this bingo card going to be important for Ohio? Is this going to be ball machine or computerized

I'm assuming you're talking about the G3 bingo. That's like an instant game that's printed out of the terminal. I wish more states would do that. The only ones who have them now are Montana and Minnesota.

Minnesota Lottery has a bingo style lottery game with a 5x5 card. To win the top prize the call numbers has to cover all 25 numbers on your card. For lower prizes, the call numbers have to cover certain patterns on your card. I assume the 25 call numbers are picked from a larger group of numbers. There is no strategy, you just buy a bunch of cards and hope for the best. O.K. I'm speculating here, but here are the prizes and odds Numbers matched on a vertical, horizontal, ordiagonal row. Prize Odds per $2 Match 5 Jackpot 1 in 6,273,960Match 4 $1,000 1 in 13,208Match 3 $10 1 in 140 Match 2 $2 1 in 4 Overall odds are approximately 1 in 4.4I could be wrong here though.

Ohio has constantly improved their SuperLotto game by making it worst. First is was two plays per dollar, starting jackpots of $4M, minimum rolls of $4M and 3of6 paid $3. Then they added some numbers and changed it to $1 per play. Then they limited the amount one ticket could win to $20M when they had bigger jackpots advertised. People started to play less so they added the bonus ball, got rid of the limit that one ticket could win, offered a free QP for a 3of6 win and got rid of minimum $4M... [ More ]

Sounds like the epitome of gimmicky games. But I'll definately go for it. And I wasn't aware of any survey from the OH Lottery beyond the one for the joint game with Michigan. I wonder what the odds for the $10 instant win costs though? If it's 1 in 20, the actual ticket would contribute only $1 to the prize pool. And through some calculation and speculation, should that be the case, the lower tiers would pay out 48% alone. CASHOnly, this game might pay out 60%.

For similarities, take a look at KY's Tic Tac Cash. Same concept, different-sized playing field.But the article indicated that players would be able to select numbers in the top row alone - the other four rows would be quick picks only.There would have to be some filtering of the possibilities - after all, there are 552,446,474,061,128,648,601,600,000 different bingo cards possible. They should've just added this game to the current line-up as opposed to simply replacing Super Lotto. Sounds like an interesting twist on the Match 6 concept (which is patented by Scientific Games, therefore preventing GTech states from using it). Expect a lot of numbers in this game though, like a 5/55 or something like that.I'm also glad they're moving the Kicker to Mega Millions instead of letting it go down with it's ship. This was one of the concepts Ohio was surveying players about. I still would have liked to seen the Michigan/Ohio game take off. BTW Ohio just started to pay $1 for 3/6.The Kicker should be retired. But this will mean another in-state MM quirk.
