Sounds like she picked a real 'winner' of a friend, red flags were flying everywhere and this is the thanks she gets for helping him out in his time of need.

Before Judge Gerald Solomon sentenced him to 5 to 12 years, Lucas professed his innocence and claimed the victim fell out of a second-story doorway.

Either the reporter writing the story doesn't know how to communicate correctly. or in Pennsylvania they have constructed buildings with doors above ground level that have no porches outside them. LOL

Sounds like Lucas is pretty slick in the court room. Slippery people make me nervous, they always fall between the cracks of the system. This man is a crook. He is trying to make a living out of sueing lottery winners.

I totally agree. Maybe they are using his past record to show his lack of character, but his violent behavior has nothing to do with the lottery.

The woman suffered 12 broken bones, according to trial testimony.

I wonder if his victim can sue for damages if he does win his case.

This story wasnt well detailed . A shame that a lawyer will end up getting more then the folks in battle for it. I could care less what the guys past was... It should have centered on the evidence of this supposed contract between the two....

Cathy Young said was stunned Tuesday to learn that a former friend claims that she refused to split a $100,000 Pennsylvania lottery jackpot with him.

She said she was helping William A. Lucas Jr. get back on his feet after serving a prison sentence and he's already depleted his share for new tow trucks for his brother's business.

All I did was feel sorry for him, said Young, who lives in North Union Township.
