I think if I were to give this reply a name, a suitable name would be

Does God prevent people from winning the lottery?

The answer would be No! The key word being prevent in otherwords, he doesn't prevent it!

But just because he knows something doesnt mean he made it happen!

Hey,i read what you wrote it doesn't make no sense to me at all.God work in different ways no man can understand, for instance the theif that died on the cross with Jesus christ, is he only? God does answers prayer irrespective of who you are, the sins you've commited, and plus who is man to know how God does his things? People have their beliefs and if something good happens, they want to give thanks for that special event in thier lives. God did not tell that woman to gamble. Perhaps God intervened on her behalf because he knew she was in trouble and needed help in a way than most of us may not understand. God works in mysterious ways and we should be thankful when something fortunate happens in our lives and give thanks to God. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, its a free country. If this lady believes in the power of prayer and a lot of people do, who is to say it was not God.. Have you met him? I have to jump in here, sorry if I sound negative or pessimistic, because I am actually an optimist yet I always have to respond when I see millions of people making an error when it comes to how The Creator of heaven and earth works.

I just wrote something similar (not quite as strong!) in the mystical forum when someone posted about dreams and being able to see the future. I think prayer helps us to focus, gives us guidance, and can also be healing, but I don't think God makes those decisions either. He leaves all that crazy stuff to us humans. There have also been articles about drug dealers and convicted sex offenders who win the lottery.

Still, it's a nice story.

I thank God, that woman won. I wish God had answered my prayers when I needed to win the lottery to get my mother a new liver and my brother a bone marrow transplant but in his wisdom he left me alone so I could spend everything my family had for hospitalization but no transplants and funerals for the two of them. Jesus loves me cause the bible tells me so. God bless.

I prefer to read about millionaires that win the lottery. It's more like real life. You know, all the poor downtrodden people working to make rich people's dreams come true while getting nothing in return. Oh wait, that's the Republican dream: top 10% get ahead and everyone else can go to Mexico to get ahead.
