Huh, I thought a lottery ticket is invalid/voided if there is added writing on the front.

That is why when I purchase an advance draw ticket and win early on, before I go to claim my small dollar winnings, I write on the front of the ticket how much I won and that draws remain so that as I am handing that SIGNED ticket to the clerk, both she/he and I know the score and even if the person tried to pull this scheme, would be unsuccessful since my info is already entered on the back. It is pretty hard for a Patel to have my name and address as no Patel's live here

This is why lotteries should allow players to register, as the NSW lotteries does. If a ticket is lost or stolen the purchaser can prove ownership without a long legal wrangle.

Congratulations to the Lottery Corp and the Winnipeg Police.

I like the proactive approach to catching these crooks. TN could learn something from them. I called to report a clerk trying to rip off my wife one time and they didn't even want to know where it happened. They just said to be careful.

Now I just hope they throw that crook in jail for a few years so all the other crooks get the message.

The lottery gods have handed a man more than $90,000 in winnings but only after an alleged ticket thief was denied the same prize.
