True enough. I still prefer to call myself a liberal - but I usually just use the word Libertarian, since in modern politics it more accurately defines my views. Nowadays - though - I use the words Progressive (should be regressive) and Social Conservative since that tends to more generally define the Democrats and Republicans. It's all really become a matter of whether you hate lots of welfare or lots of warfare more. What most people don't realize is that both major Political parties are reall... [ More ]

The meanings of words change, Louise.

It's a shame they twisted and perverted the meaning of the word liberal to define somebody who hates our country, our flag and everything it stands for.

Progressive didn't used to mean Anti-American either. But it does now. If somebody says they're progressive, you know they hate America and blame it for everything wrong in the world today.

Cryin' shame.

Well I agree with LottoLin, but I'm such an addict I can't stop playing. (Something inside still says I will win someday soon....like all addicts do.) I keep track of such things and have noticed where the bulk of the money goes. Was wondering if anyone else had noticed too. That said, I would love it if KY would allow some online gambling so I could buy my lottery tickets online for Powerball. I do not like having to go out into the freezing rain and snow during the winter just to get my ticket... [ More ]

IDK who your replying to - but I think a widespread tax evasion by the public is actually more moral than the widespread theft of private citizens money through legalized theft (AKA: Taxes) - If you were referring to people evading taxes on lower level prizes. I mean think about it - if you beat the long odds and actually pull in more money over a year playing the lottery - should Uncle Sam get a cut? Hellllllll no.

Sure, honesty is the best policy. But by that same logic, it would have

Personally, I like it. And since I'm living in IL, I'm going to use online PB/MM ticketing if it's available.

Sure, I can go to the 7-11 or wherever and pick up my ticket....even for 15 draws or whatever, but it's a convenience like anything else.

That makes sense lottoguy but usually a person can find someone to pick up their tickets for them. I am just saying what I would do. But if a person chooses to buy online than that is ok too. I am just not fond of the idea, but if the people of Illinois buy off on it and it becomes successful than so be it.

Todd you have a valid point when it comes to shopping online but I respectfully disagree when it comes to lottery tickets. I do alot of my shopping online because you can often get better deals then going into a store and plus you don't have to put up with the hassle of dealing with big crowds, parking etc. Another advantage is you can shop at your convience at any time during the day and with going to a store you can only go during their hours of operation. Since most convience stores are 24/7... [ More ]

Playing a states lottery games online makes it easier for the state to track who you are and how much you have won or lost.

People said the same thing about shopping online. Why bother when you can just go down the street and buy the same thing at a store?

Just look at the UK: they've had online sales for a few years now available only to people who live there and it is a very popular way to play.

I thought that Illinois offers a subsription service to Illinois players??? What is the advantage of offerring an online lottery service only to Illinois residents when a person can just go down the street to a convience store and pick up their own ticket??? Just doesn't make sense to me unless it was offered to anyone over 18 anywhere accross the nation. We all know that lotto tickets are bearer instruments and if I lived in Illinois I rather have the ticket in my hand.
