Using similar logic, 5/39 games with odds of 1/575K would have starting jackpots of $275K and 6/49 games with odds of 1/14M would start at $6.5M and that's never going to happen. You can chose to wait until the jackpot is the size you want or never play, after all lotteries aren't for everybody.

It's interesting to note that while the $241M jackpot was the largest ever won in Iowa, some members were saying the jackpot wasn't large enough for them to pay $2 for a ticket.

There are many local games with better odds, but their jackpot seldom reach $50M before being won which make them less attractive to many players. We don't need to spend less on PB and MM in order to have games with better odds because they already exist.

Yeah, that's him, Louise.

He said that was just a big mixup too, wasn't his fault.

He assured me that kind of thing would never happen again and he wants to give me a discount on an investment account as soon as he gets out of jail.

I don't care that 20 people will split $241 million annuity/$160 million CV because that boils down to $8 million each before taxes or about $5 million after taxes. I am all in for the $40 million / $26.6 million Saturday drawing since when I hit, I will be able to quietly walk away with about $18 million after taxes. Sure, that is $5 million more than any of them and many of us had on Wednesday, but I admit I am selfish and would hate to be sharing when lady luck smiles on me.

Thursday night, those rumors appeared to be confirmed. Multiple employees say that a group of around 20 working in the company's shipping and receiving department pitched in on a ticket and won Wednesday's $241 million dollar Powerball jackpot.

Maybe this time it's a spur of the moment group that started their pool when the jackpot reached $200 million and all the same people played until it was hit.
