A lot of good ole boy state legislators from far away south Georgia boonies take the trouble to get elected just because they can go hang in the A-T-L for a month or two without the wife and with lobbyists that look a lot like Ms. Alford. Just business as usual. Unlike some of those more enlightened states like Cali, they balance their budgets here always. After all, you got to do something good if you gonna play around, just to take the heat off.

Just life under the Golden Dome, my friend. When the Republicans took over about 10 or 12 years ago for the first time since reconstruction, all the good government sissies thought things would change for the better. Well, things haven't changed at all. In fact a lot of those good ole boys that ran things for they and their friends when they were Democrats just changed parties and still run things for they and their friends' benefit.

I wonder why so many people think she shouldn't have gotten the job? Was it jealousy or maybe she is not the best qualified. One of the board members quit because of her hiring.

Maybe because Bad effing Deal made it into a political appoinment which it is NOT supposed to be?

He pressured the board with threats to once again try to eliminate the lottery in Georgia it IS a sin after all, right? unless she was appointed.

Also, state employees making $378K ($7,269 per week) to run the lottery?

The US President makes $400K per year. Now Debbie is making $300K ($5,769 per week) to run the lottery.
