The correct approach is for the lottery to assume there&#x27;s a problem and use security procedures to establish the ticket&#x27;s validity, but as far as they actually knew when the Canadian guy contacted them it was valid. The multi-state lottery gets to keep the money that went unclaimed. He actually created bad karma for himself.
