Well, sure you can, but what if the only person inspecting them is Eddie Tipton? That seems to be about what happened with the RNG games that were tampered with. Just because you can't see the drawing process doesn't mean you can't inspect the software and the machines. With all this and other things that went on in Illinois I find it especially disturbing that the Illinois Lottery went to computerized drawings.

I saw the story, and I don't think ABC did a good job on it. They are being very confusing with the 30 states thing, because 30 states did not use the computerized equipment being discussed. For example, they highlighted Texas as one of the states, even though Texas uses no computerized drawings. They probably included Texas because Tipton's brother lives there, but it is highly misleading to say that Texas was ever involved.

Some people occasionally bring this up as a way to show some kind of balance between ball drawings and computerized drawings. But that is like comparing a raindrop to a monsoon.

Yes, you can theoretically say a ball drawing can be rigged, and you can even say that it was rigged in that one specific case, many years ago. But in that one instance where it was done it was CAUGHT because you can physically inspect the balls and any layman can witness the drawing and see what happens.

Is illinois rng daily drawings effected by what this person has done directly?

How many states use software and firmware from the same firms.

I thought the machines had no way of sending out data--to another computer.

Are not they supposed to be in a sealed room unable to send out or be changed by others?

oct 1st illinois went rng.

supposedly to many people had advantages others didn't and that was the reason to go rng.

Balls can be rigged too. Remember years ago in the PA lottery, 666 came out. Word on the street was to play anything with 6 or 4. All the other ball were weighted down. A lot of people hit off of that and a lot went to jail too.

How LONG has it been going on? That's the main question. Do WE get refunds?? I suspect not. I stopped buying Powerball tickets when they raised the price of tickets to 2.00. Only play the MegaBall now. Did he sneak a few hits on that too? It has come to not trusting the lottery at all, those computer picks in PA for the daily number... who is choosing the numbers for the Day draw and are they using this asinine way to cheat us? I agree, where there is money there is corruption.

It would seem the feds would get involved since it had occurred over several state lines. The IRS will probably catch wind of this and go over years worth of tax returns. You get greedy and you get stupid.

State lotteries in Colorado, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma have confirmed they paid jackpots worth $8 million to Tipton associates, including his old college roommate, Robert Rhodes.

They said Tipton rigged the Hot Lotto drawing in Iowa that could result in his buddies winning a Hot Lotto jackpot in another state, but Colorado and Wisconsin are not Hot Lotto state. There is a very serious problem if Tipton is rigging jackpot game drawings in several states. One would think if they proved he rigged

I had to laugh about OK's lottery director saying they have to be constantly vigilant.

Well, get rid of the RNG draws and that will make it a lot easier to be vigilant.

It's hard to understand why any lottery commission would want to keep using computers to draw numbers after this.

RNG Really Not Good. Balls are better, harder to rig them up, has to be a conspiracy of more than one criminal. We've been correct all along.
