This outcome was expected by Alabama voters. We knew this bill was going to

stalled enough before it land in the paper. What is wrong here is not the bill.

Since they don't believe they get the biggest slice of this cake [tax revenue]

to use any way they want. Alabama voters are not going to sign a blank check

for them. Since they can't get it right. We will continue to take our money out of

The best way for Alabamians to show their support for a state lottery, is to participate in other state lotteries. For Alabamians who are unable to travel to play neighboring state lotteries, they can subscribe by phone to the Massachusetts lottery. Also, let your state politicians know, so they are more aware of the revenue leaving the state.

Let the people that want to gamble, gamble. The ones that don't want to gamble, don't have to. One or the other is NOT mandatory. It's your personal decision to do either one.

But some people want to force their anti-gambling (or any other anti-) views on every one else. Why?

Other than that, it's the same old-same old arguments we hear every time a state wants to start a lottery. Ho Hum...

Great news for other state lotteries, they will continue to benefit from lottery revenue flowing in from Alabama. This is called, cutting off the nose to spite the face.

As I've said before, Florida is the big beneficiary of Alabama's lack of a lottery. Many Alabama residents who want to play a lottery or buy scratch off tickets buy tickets in Florida. We appreciate the contribution to our education system.

Good, it's nothing but a rip-off anyway. You never win these games. The odds are terrible. A lot of energy and money is wasted going out playing these games and you receive nothing in return. Alabama state lawmakers return to Montgomery on Tuesday for the final two days of the 2016 legislative session, but for supporters of a state lottery, the session has already ended.
