Giving the workers a share of the slice of the pie is once again up to the Owner of the establishment. He/she should not be forced to do so.You ought to read some of the posts in the recent past that suggested that if you won a jackpot, it should be your duty to return to the store and give the person who sold you the ticket x amount of dollars. l say it is up to you the winner, to decide whether you want to or not.If you used one of the lottery vendor machines that spat out your winning ticket,... Maybe greedily was the wrong description. But...some clerk had to have sold that person the ticket right? Maybe not the store owner but the clerk.

I mean who knows maybe they get broke off something, even if it's like $500 or $1,000 per employee. But even then i could see conditions to it. So and so called in and doesn't get the check etc.

The store owner gets the cheque.What he or she does with it from that point on is entirely up to them.BTW, there is nothing greedily about it.The owner requested the installation of the machine, the owner pays out of their cash register amounts under $600 on the spot. I have yet to see the workers opening their wallets and rounding up the cash amongst themselves to pay any winner...have you

American Indian, The current tax regime began in 1913. The Politicians promised that only the rich would be taxed. Americans let that camel stick it's nose inside the tent and soon the entire camel was inside.

The automatic withholding was another smart move by the IRS. It is painless and not seen.

Our current President, Donald Trump, is planning on lowering the top rate to 30%. I hope he succeeds in making this happen. That would lower it from 39.6% to 30%.

I have found some more My Lottery Dream Home shows on HGTV and I will post them on the Discussion Forum.

I forgot to mention that if the winner earns income during the rest of 2017 he/she will owe taxes on that too. Most likely at the top rate also. A CPA, Accountant, or enrolled agent will be necessary.

Congratulations to a fellow Californian! There are no State nor City taxes on Lottery winnings. That will save the winner 13.3% which is the top rate here in CA. The winner will pay sales taxes on all the purchases he makes.

The winning ticket for Friday night's Mega Millions drawing was sold in Laguna Hills, California.

The ticket matching all six winning numbers was purchased at a 7-Eleven located at 27001 Moulton Parkway, according to a news release Saturday from the California Lottery.

The winner, who has not yet come forward, will have the choice of taking the annual payments over 29 years, accumulating to $61 million, or taking a lump sum cash payout of $37.3 million.
