Doubt this will get any LP attention, but on FB today the VA lottery said the final ticket expires this Friday to serve as a reminder. Also had the 7-11 address of where it was sold. have a feeling this one is going to bite the unclaimed lottery group

Just on Facebook. A man bought one of the three winning raffle tickets in Lynchburg, VA. He put it in a drawer where he lives in Virginia Beach, VA and found it looking for his checkbook.

Now who has the third and final ticket

LOL ! Imagine that ? every trash can near a lottery machine would be empty !

Naw, what I meant is the unclaimed $ should be added to another game so it stays in play.

That's what used to be done until the states got greedy

Way back when, I would buy tickets and forget to check them. However, I always buy them at the same place. If there had been a winning ticket sold, there would have been signs. If it had been the jackpot, not only would there have been banners on the front of the store, until recently, they would release a video of the winning ticket being sold hoping someone would ID the purchaser if no one came forward and time was running out.

I would feel absolutely rotten, worthless, dejected and whatever other adjectives that apply.

I think and hope that the owner(s) of that ticket, if not all ready found, and planned upon, soon find the ticket, and hope extra hard that the tickets weren't otherwise destroyed.

Boy, what I could do with 1 million minus taxes.

Um, not much, but it would be enough to move me across this country.

Remember Martyn Kay Tott? They lost out of a three million pound prize in London, England UK. First, they forgot to watch the only lottery draw on tv that they ever missed. Then when Camelot showed the winning numbers six months later the couple could not find the ticket. There is a rule for lost tickets and that is they must report it within thirty days of the draw. Which the Tott's had not done. They eventually lost out and did not get the three million pounds. The whole story is quite interes... [ More ]

I hope not myself, Bleu.

But, it sure is looking like it in a few states.Some 1 win and then they forget to check tix,i can't imagine losing so much money like this,by not at all checking my ticket.

I try to remember to check it at least in 1 to 3 days.

Yep, here we go again. Some people should just quit playing. These are tickets that could have gone to people who check their tickets. What a waste{barring death or incapacitation}.

I hope that the owner does not find it a day late. How would you feel if that happened to you?

I am sure that the majority of LP Members and Staff take real good care of their tickets. We learn from other player's mistakes and do not make them ourselves.

Two $1 million-winning Virginia Millionaire Raffle lottery tickets drawn on New Year's Day have not yet been claimed and are due to expire by the end of June.

One of the winning tickets was bought at a 7-Eleven on West Broad Street in Richmond. The other was purchased in Lynchburg.

In Virginia, winning lottery tickets must be claimed within 180 days after the numbers were drawn or they become worthless.
