WTG Kentucky Lottery Corporation. I had wrote on Facebook that since you guys don't do the State Fair anymore, how would I get a KY Lottery hat with the new Logo?

They sent me a message asking me to send my address to them, which I did.

An hour ago Ring said someone is @ the front door. It was the UPS man with a box like reams of paper comes in. It was FULL of Kentucky Lottery Merchandise including my beloved hat.

Don't waste your time trying to explain to Mr-know-it-all what higher education means. Several states use lottery profits for college scholarships and some contribute to a very tiny portion of their state's educational budget.

Information on lottery dollars going toward education has been posted several times but gets ignored.

I didn't say just school supplies, I mentioned several things and etc.....

The $3B in grants doesn't mean $3B or more isn't subject to voodoo accounting somewhere else in the system.

$3 billion in grants to higher education in KY, not for school supplies as you imply. Don't believe me, contact the KLC and they'll set you straight. Higher education=college.

One more time, lottery revenue goes into the education system but an equal or greater amount is taken out of the education system somewhere else within the system.

It's called voodoo accounting.

Name any state you want to that says the lottery helps the states schools and see where that state is ranked among national educations stats.

Teacher strikes?, School teachers posting list of school supplies needed for classes for people shopping where school supplies are sold? etc...ad nauseam... [ More ]

Good points, Stack47.

You've got to admit one thing about our lottery, IMO it is a very progressive one and forward thinking. While other states grapple about offering on-line sales, they did it here with little fanfare. Seems to me it just happened. No interference from Frankfort legislative branch.

Take my home state of Massachusetts. Now I consider that state much more progressive than KY in many ways, however their Legislature has their grubby hands in the till and has resisted efforts... [ More ]

My point was no state lottery pays even 50% of their total state education budget so how any state's education ranks, fares, or any other measure has nothing to do with whatever contribution a lottery makes. If somebody wants to make a case that lottery funding does impact state education budgets, they can do the research because from what I've read, most state lottery funds go to higher education as you said.

What does the KY lottery ad say? Over $3 billion for higher education from the lottery. This comes in the form of grants and indirectly knew someone who benefited for a college grant. It is my understanding that the monies only go for secondary education, not high schools, etc.

It's amazing how the anti-lottery people are still whining about state lotteries not paying for their entire state education budget when the lotteries incentives simply said portions or all of the lottery profits would go to education. Since lottery inception several state legislators changed how lottery profits would be distributed.

Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie is a recent transplant from the Florida Lottery. Well done so far!

Come April 4, 2019, it will be the thirtieth anniversary for the Kentucky Lottery! I wonder if there are any players who began in 1989.

Through the years BCH has put out many great advertisements for the KY lottery.

Now will try to get one of their hats, somehow with the new logo

on it. Since they don't do the State Fair anymore, maybe one of their mobile sites will have hats as prizes. Already have the past two versions, good things happen in threes.

With the Kentucky Lottery's 30th anniversary occurring in 2019, a new logo that better represents its roots in the Bluegrass State has been unveiled.

The lottery is a different organization than we were ten years ago when the last logo was rolled out, and I felt it was time for a redo, said Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie. He said players and the public should see a gradual rollout of the logo over the course of the next year.
