I disagree. Millionaires and billionaires walk around everyday without this problem. You can find out where anyone lives on the internet. This may seem like a good idea but I definitely think it will cause problems down the road.

This happens to be a very dangerous world we live in. Some crooks are so clever all they need is your name and city, they will find the rest. You're sitting there in your new mansion with 300 million in the bank and not a care in the world. Meanwhile there is a crook turning over every rock looking for you because the lottery published your name and hometown. I think this rule should be applied in every state for all prizes over $100,000. Just for safety.

New law comes into effect September 1

Minnesota will join the growing list of states that allow players to claim lottery prizes anonymously when a new law goes into effect granting winners of certain big prizes the option to withhold their names from the public record.

On Friday, Governor Tim Walz signed a bill into law that will allow lottery winners of prizes over $10,000 to keep their names private.
