This was probably said already, but

What are the odds, the clerk just messed up and ran the tickets three times?

Or the customer by accident, when copying his wheel output just copied the same data twice?

If the wheel was $100 bucks, it is real easy to lose track of where you are in your output,

not to mention the pressure of time restriction to make a mistake of duplicates.

Anyway Congrats! Use the money wisely

Mississippi is starting a pick 4 game. Their well thought of lottery is doing quite well. Maybe Alabama will get it right and get to vote on a lottery.

Idaho has a daily Pick 5 game called Idaho Cash where you get two plays for a dollar. Montana also has a Pick 5 game called Montana Cash which offers the same. Oregon has a Pick 6 game that offers two plays for a dollar called Oregon Megabucks.

My guess is that it was one player that purchased all three tickets. The NY Lottery probably has a good sense of whether or not it was one or multiple players just by looking at the timestamps on the tickets.

If all three timestamps are very close together (for instance within the span of 30 seconds) then that'd be a good indicator that one player bought all three. After the three tickets split the $8.3 mil jackpot from Wed 11/24/21, the jackpot was reset to $2 mil.

Last night, Sat 11/27/21, a single ticket matched all six numbers to win the $2 mil jackpot.

The New York State Lottery used to show if the winning tickets were quick pick, regular (meaning the winner selected the numbers themself) or if it was a subscription ticket. They don't show that any longer.

I wrote to the NY Lottery and asked why not. They answered that it was for security me... [ More ]

That you get to pick 2 sets of numbers doesn't change the odds. It's still just one chance with odds of 1 in 22 million for $1.

I would say that all three tickets were purchased by the same one person.

What's certain is that it wasn't 3 unrelated purchases. Based on the chances of splitting the prize it makes far more sense to get 3 chances by playing different combinations. The only sensible reason I see for playing the same combination would be to simplify the spl... [ More ]

Could you tell me what the Solaris Grid List is for current the Powerball lottery of 69 white balls and 26 red balls, and Mega Millions Lottery of 70 white balls and 25 red balls? what we THINK WE see is NOT WHAT WE GET...because odds are so long, it is very likely 1 group of players or 1 player played all 3 tickets

secondly it is very possible the team of players were working from the same list....if we knew how many other tickets were included with the winning tickets in the same purchase....and thirdly, the fact the store clerks don't say they know the ticket purchaser or remember...all this is 'cause of suspicion' but none of these things themselves points directly... Almost unheard of....two plays for $1. Just looked up MD's lottery as when I was stationed there circa '88 they had the same deal. Now I see that particular lottery is gone. What other states give two plays for $1 aside from NY WA State?

Nice win, too bad Manhattan tacks on another tax...but as the saying goes you had nothing before

If I were to take a guess, I would say that all three tickets were purchased by the same one person.

After all, At $1 for two plays, the odds of matching all six numbers minus the bonus number and winning the New York Lotto jackpot for a dollar are 1 in 22,528,737. Imagine what the odds would be for three individual people buying three separate tickets for that drawing with the same six numbers on it purchased from the same one location.
