I'm in Louisiana and I'm sure we've lost some lottery revenue due to Mississippi getting its own lottery. I've actually been tempted to drive across the border and buy some scratch off tickets. One cool thing they are doing with their scratch off tickets right now is they all have a second chance drawing for the same amount as the top prize and to get into the second chance drawing just enter losing tickets on their web site. They don't even have to be mailed in. I think that's pretty cool.... [ More ]

But nobody, including the state is forcing anyone to buy a ticket.

Maybe you could benefit from a little common sense.

I would advise their players that their cash 5 game should not be played until the jackpot reaches 200k. The 2.00 price tag is steep for those secondary prizes. It is all weighted for the jackpot which is a once in a lifetime thing.

Their lottery has done very well since its inception.

Now if Alabama folks would be offered the chance to vote on a lottery then it would leave four states without a lottery. Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah all without. The last two never will...perhaps none listed will

Ringing in the New Year with a new daily draw game

This week, the Mississippi Lottery announced that it is adding a third draw game to its lineup, a daily Pick 4-style game called Cash 4.

Mississippi players will have a shot at a $5,000 top prize in the Lottery's new Cash 4 game.

Tickets for Cash 4 go on sale when the game officially begins Mon., Jan. 10, 2022.
