Lots of players wait to play MM and PB until the jackpot is over $300 million or more. By waiting to play until they believe jackpots are more likely to be hit, it sort of makes sense to buy tickets in states where it's more likely a jackpot winning ticket will be sold.

Way back in the day, I drove from Ohio to West Virginia to buy tickets for the Big Game so it's not exactly necessary to move, but a I know I'm going to win player might consider it.

in some states you just can't win no matter how many times a popular number plays in other states. the state won't let it play for fears it may break the bank.

You can play the New York Lottery, if you have a New York State address. California did have a subscription service some years ago, they really should have an online subscription service. The UK has such a service and 9 million people use the service. In Western Australia, the WA State Lottery has an App, players can play on the App, with small prize money credited to the player's account.

I can't think of any reason I'd move to California including the jackpot winning percentage. Besides, I can meet all the California people I want right here in East Tennessee anyway. They're buying up everything.

I won't mention the name here but there is a website in Texas that has a lotto report of ticket sales by state from most of the states for both Powerball and Mega Millions draws.

I have looked at sales reports, by county, in Michigan and there are plenty of anomalies here if you compare big wins/sales by county. Too bad the games are not more transparent and don't break down the ticket sales by state and too bad the states don't break them down by county and report the numbers online.... [ More ]

No don't move here. Only reason there is more winners in CA is because there is a way more lotto players in this state compared to smaller states. It isn't more lucky isn't hard to understand.
