If Maryland is like Florida, they can cut off sales of a given number if it starts to exceed a certain amount that they don't want to be liable for (in our case $7 million)

So if everyone starts trying playing the same number, some people could get cut off

yea, just keep going to the same store each day with 1 ticket at a time - lol

Good to see Maryland Lottery is STILL repeating numbers even in the Pick 5 RNG

Not complaining, just commenting - this guys numbers come out 3 times, years from now others 'fav' numbers wont have come out at all - even boxed

But if you hit for 50K on the Pick 3 you can cash them in a few at a time and not have to pay the 32.95% in taxes.

I would rather spend the $1.00 to get 50K on the Pick5 than spend $100 to get 50K on the pick 3. That is if I could figure out what numbers to play on what days. It is not feasible to play one number 7 days a week, twice a day, for months on end until it wins.

Besides, The $1.00 Pick-5 prize of $50K is similar to spending $100.00 on Pick-3 for the same prize payout.

They switched to the RNG Dec 19, 2022 for the P3, P4, P5.

Was in line behind a guy cashing a 50 cents straight/box ticket and asked the clerk to replay it. When I asked, the clerk said lots of people play the same numbers back . Not sure if I'd play a 100,000 to 1 pick 5 combo even a year later, but people do it.

After changing how they draw the results, all the past drawing data is useless so while he played the same combo, it was similar to playing it in another state. We don't have the game in KY so I've never checked the repeat data. Possibly s... [ More ]

Yes, that is true a lot of people will start playing the guy's lucky numbers but he knows even if people do play his numbers, it will not lessen the money he receives when he wins on them again. Besides when playing pick 3, pick 4 and pick 5, you don't know when to play them or for how long. The pick 5 started in Maryland in Feb. 2022 so he would have to have played them twice a day, seven days a weeks for almost 14 months.
