People lose tickets all the time. Once, during a torrential rainstorm, I had a Powerball ticket blow out my hand, and was gone forever. The wind carried it away from me when I was trying to steady the umbrella. No one had won from that store, so I didn't lose a winning ticket.

Unfortunately all to many of these winning lottery tickets go unclaimed because the buyer loses the ticket. I don't know about Canada, but in some US states when someone goes to the lottery headquarters to claim the winning jackpot prize, they must have two form of ID. The names on both forms of ID must match exactly or the prize can't be claimed. Most people don't know this so showing up to lottery headquarter with names on ID's that don't match would be a shocker to find out. Also it would be... [ More ]
